Reinforcing the brand`s sports performance platform, Reebok has entered in to a multi - year partnership with Sri Lankan Skipper Mahela Jayawardene to endorse its brand.

The Reebok Cricket gear was launched by the brand ambassador Jayawardena at a ceremony held in Colombo. A special loyalty card was also launched for the local customers that entitled special privileges.

The Reebok`s dominance in the sub-continent as the number one sports brand over the years has also been endorsed by international cricketers like Rahul Dravid, M.S. Dhoni, Shohib Malik and Abdul Razzaq.

Welcoming Jayawardena to Reebok, the Group Managing Director, DSI Group, Kulatunge Rajapakse, said that the company is happy to be the distributor and marketer of Reebok products.

`We tied up with the DSI Samson Group in 2004 and opened the first Rbk exclusive store in Colombo. The tremendous response to the brand made it possible to open the second exclusive store in last April and firstever Rbk exclusive duty free store was opened early this year at the Bandaranaike International Airport`, he said.

In meeting the growing demand and widening its reach, Reebok is now available at selected DSI outlets around the country, he added.

Reebok`s mission is to revolutionize the industry by sponsoring cricketers with world class bats, pads, gloves and footwear. The brand is synonymous with sports performance and Jayawardene is one of the eminent sports icon in this era.

The appointed brand ambassador Jayawardene will now endorse the complete range of Reebok products, including specialised cricket gear of shoes, apparel and related equipment. `I feel honoured and privileged to be part of the Reebok cricketing fraternity. The brand is playing a pioneer role in promoting sports and fitness with its products and technology to sports professionals and enthusiasts. Reebok started its operations in India in 1995 with plans to reach the whole sub-continent.
