Information Technology is the most recent addition to the Group sector portfolio. Samson Information Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. was formed with the intention of outsourcing some of the IT activities of the individual DSI companies. The Company was incorporated in 2005 and it has signed up with DELL for distribution in 2011. The Company restructured its business model as purely an IT distributor in 2013 and since then has been showing a significant growth in the Sri Lankan IT distribution business. Today, Samson IT is a fast-growing force in the Sri Lankan channel business with more than 300 resellers located all across the country.

The Company is now focusing on DELL Notebooks, Desktops, Servers, Printers and Consumables as well as switches to distribute to the Sri Lankan market. The more than 300 resellers located across Sri Lanka help drive our business and help us to achieve bottom lines. Consumer Notebooks is the major contributor to the Company’s Dell revenue while DELL commercial desktops also contribute significantly to the revenue of the Company while fulfilling the reseller’s branded PC requirements. Samson IT has even managed to convert a majority of these resellers towards DELL branded PCs from other competitor brands. DELL Printers and Switches are the newest additions to the Company’s product portfolio while the DELL printer has been repositioned with the resellers. The Company provides after sales and warranty related services for DELL products through its DELL Authorized Service Center. AVIRA is the Antivirus product from Samson IT to the country. Avira is one of the world’s leading Antivirus Software from Germany. Avira is a company with over 100 million customers worldwide and a leading supplier of self-developed security solutions for professional and private use. With more than 25 years of experience, the company is a pioneer in its field.
